Who can come?
Anyone who can twist from their core, get up and down off the floor, and bend at their joints. This level of yoga is geared to any experience level.
When: Sunday, December 28th, 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Doors open at 4:15. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to allow for figuring out parking, getting settled with your mat/pillows/blankets, using the bathroom, filling up water, etc.
Where: 1333 N 33rd Street, Lincoln Nebraska. The event takes place in a renovated sanctuary space, which is one of many rooms inside the ConnectioN Point building.* Enter through the back door, down the hallway and turn left.
* Alchemia is not affiliated with ConnectioN Point directly, but we are excited to be partnering with them for the use of their community space. Knowing that a portion of each ticket goes to supporting their organization that does so much to help the community makes this event even sweeter. Renting this space for the event gives back and supports the work they do in the community to support low-income families and minority groups, among other things.
Parking: You can park in the ConnectioN Pointe parking lot, or along the streets in the surrounding neighborhood.
What to Wear: Consider wearing layers of comfortable clothing that you can easily stretch in. It is strongly recommended to bring socks, a comfortable long sleeve layer, and comfortable long pants. Yin yoga is a very slow form of yoga. A lot of the time will be spent in stillness in various postures, stretching, meditating, and breathing. This can lower blood pressure (in a healthy way) and cause the body to become cooler than normal.
What to Bring:
Yoga Mat
Water Bottle
(optional, but highly recommended):
2 blankets: one to put under your mat for extra cushion, one to have on top during Savasana to keep warm
Pillows or bolsters: many poses will be more comfortable if you have something to prop various parts of your body up
Eye mask - if you like to keep the light out during Savasana/meditation
Strap or blocks if you already own them and enjoy practicing yoga with them
Journal - you might feel the desire to jot something down during or right after class
Donation items for ConnectioN Point: This is also a resources drive for ConnectioN Point, an organization that supports low income and marginalized groups in our local community. Here is a list of items they are currently asking the community for. If you have anything to donate, please bring it to the event on 12/28: shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, tampons, pads, razors, toothpaste, toothbrush, laundry detergent, toilet paper.
See you Sunday, the 28th! I am really looking forward to sharing the art and skill of regulating your nervous system, expanding into joy, and the bliss that lies beyond!
In Love,
Michaela / Alchemia
